Ateromixol PRESENTATION: Tablets 5mg. COMPOSITION: Each tablet contains: Policosanol 5mg. DESCRIPTION: ateromixol (policosanol) is a product of natural origin comprising a mixture of natural upper primary aliphatic alcohols isolated from sugar cane in the appropriate properties to ensure their pharmacological action. IS A PRODUCT of Cuban origin. PHARMACOLOGY: The ateromixol reduces serum cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol in patients normocholesterolémic as well as in patients with endogenous hypercholesterolemia. Serum levels of total cholesterol and cholesterol of low density lipoproteins (LDL-C), decrease significantly and also reduces the cholesterol content in various tissues such as heart, liver, adipose tissue, blood vessels, among others, also produces decrease of serum triglycerides and VLDL-C (cholesterol linked to very low density lipoproteins) and increasing values of HDL-C (cholesterol linked to high-density lipoprotein, which is eliminated by the bile into the feces ) preventing the formation of atherosclerotic plaques and the occurrence of complications such as atherosclerosis, hypertension, myocardial infarction, stroke Brain Thrombus and embolism and will also contribute to weight loss and controlling obesity. It also has antiplatelet action, which helps decrease the risk of atherothrombosis.
